nzstockfootage offers two file formats with several file sizes of each - here’s a quick breakdown.
Either in High Definition (HD) or Standard Definition (SD)
For projects that require editing of the video, combining the video with other elements
such as text, music or graphics, or when you need a higher quality version for broadcast,
or from which to generate other formats like Adobe Flash, then Quicktime is for you.
Quicktime is a file type that has broad acceptance across computing platforms. The files
are large, but hold a lot of visual information.
The Quicktime files are compressed using either DVCPRO HD or Photo JPEG compression for High Quality or H.264 for Medium Quality.
For more details on the differences between High Definition (HD) and Standard Definition
(SD) see below under `Specifications'.
NOTE: Quicktime clips are either in PAL or NTSC depending on the source. If a clip is not in your preferred format or frame rate we can convert it for your convenience.

If you are making a PowerPoint presentation or other PC based multi-media project, or just
emailing a video to a friend, then a WMV version will be best suited for you. Most PC’s can
play WMV files automatically, but Macs require the free Windows Media Player from
Microsoft, or a player from Flip 4 Mac to view them.
The WMV files are compressed using the Windows Media 7 codec and as such are fairly easy
to transport on the web.
Source footage is filmed in High Definition XDCAM HD, HDV format, 16mm film, Standard
Definition DVCAM or Betacam SP format. Files are then compressed using either DVCPRO HD or Photo JPEG compression for High Quality or H.264 for Medium Quality.
WMV compression is used for PowerPoint quality formats. For the most part, the video
sourced footage was shot at 25fps.
HD High Definition files are in Quicktime format, available in 1080i50, 1080p25 and 720p50.
And compressed for delivery in either high quality DVCPRO, Photo JPEG, or med quality H.264.
HD High Quality 1920 x 1080, 1440 x 1080 or 1280 x 720 (Off-Speed)
A large file size but the best image quality.
HD Med Quality 1920 x 1080, 1440 x 1080 or 1280 x 720
A medium file size, but still retaining a very good image quality.
These files are also available in 16:9 WMV format
WMV Web Quality 640x360
An even smaller file size and quality fine for PowerPoints and web based applications.
SD Standard Definition files are in Quicktime format, available in either PAL or NTSC (USA JAPAN). And come compressed in either High Quality Photo JPEG or Medium Quality H.264.
SD High Quality NTSC 720 x 480
SD High Quality PAL 720 x 576
These files are also available in 4:3 WMV format
WMV Web Quality 640x480
