Manson Nicholls Hut on Lake Daniell

A peaceful lakeside view of Kōhanga Atawhai – Manson Nicholls Hut, located beside Lake Daniell in the Lewis Pass area of New Zealand’s South Island. This modern DOC hut was completed in 2020 using sustainable building techniques and was designed for families, trampers, and school groups. The footage captures the hut’s tranquil setting, native forest surroundings, calm lake waters, and the serene backcountry atmosphere. A location known for swimming, tramping, and trout fishing, and rich with the history of the original 1976 memorial hut.
